Best preschool photographers in Sydney with tips for taking better macro pics on your iPhone

Here at Fotek, our preschool photographers on the Central Coast explain that macro photography on your smartphone requires preparation, basic photography theories, accessories and various apps.

Close-up macro photography forces you to slow down and look at everyday objects in a totally new perspective - often at a level of detail not obvious to the human eye.

Here our kindergarten photographers in Sydney share a few tips for capturing macro photography on your smartphone:

  • Outdoors and indoors each have their pros and cons. When outdoors, capture shots in the early morning. When inside, you can better control the backdrop, lighting and focus.
  • Isolate the subject to make it the obvious focal point and remove any distracting, bright or colourful elements in the photo.
  • Simplify the background by using a dark cloth or dark board. A contrasting background can be quite effective.
  • Experiment with different angles. You may need to move the subject or just move yourself around to capture interesting and captivating angles.
  • To achieve sharp detail, you can buy a high quality lens attachment. You will also need to have stability, you can do this with a tripod. Tap the screen to tell your smartphone where to focus and use the pinch and zoom long press to lock the focus, then zoom back out again.
